The Aloha Is Foundation is a Hawai‘i-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2020, which has a great interest and involvement in Hawai‘i’s cultural and historical past and a strong commitment to the preservation of philosophical resources and foundations of Aloha. We believe that this the age of social media has changed the social and economical make-up of Hawaii’s society and communities.

Mission

Our mission is to continue the work passed down from Hawaiian Philosopher Pilahi Paki, Entertainer Moe Keale, and Hawaii Broadcasting Legend Jacqueline "Skylark" Rossetti to share the meaning and foundations of the Spirit of Aloha and be a resource to the people of Hawaii and the World:

O stands for ʻOLUʻOLU, meaning Agreeable, expressed with Harmony..

H stands for HAʻAHAʻA, meaning Humility, expressed with Modesty..

The Foundation consists of 4 areas:

 

The “Na Hoku Hanohano Moe Keale Aloha Is Award” this award is going on its 21st year and is given to the entertainer who uses their professional persona for the betterment of the community and/or community service, the entertainer that personifies what Aloha is. The foundation is the home of the Aloha Is award, managing the coordination, promotion, and presentation of the Moe Keale Aloha Is Award.

 

Aloha Is Mele (Music), A music arts program and record label to teach and support Hawaii’s Keiki in the Music Industry, teaching and mentoring on how to produce music and be successful in the music business. Music or Mele is a big part of Hawaiian Culture and Aloha. This will also be a media based program with a focus on Video Production and Graphic Arts & Design.

 

Aloha Is Keiki Program is  focused on teaching the next generations what aloha is and how to live Aloha. Putting Olelo Noeau such as “Aloha I Kekahi I Kekahi,” back into the homes of our community. Building a Cultural based education program for the development of Hawaiiʻs Keiki.

 

Aloha Is Imi Na’auao (Land and Nature based Sciences). Colborating with other community organizations and individuals to emerse keiki in Cultural based Studies focusing in the areas of Marine Conservation, Eco System studies, Stewardship of the aina, resource education(Fishing/Diving), Canoe paddling, and Voyaging.
