    Our mission is to continue the work passed down from Hawaiian Philosopher Pilahi Paki, Entertainer Moe Keale, and Hawaii Broadcasting Legend Jacqueline "Skylark" Rossetti to share the meaning and foundations of the Spirit of Aloha and be a resource to the people of Hawaii and the World.

    Our Vision , is to build a future in which people live in peace and harmony, that’s what Aloha is.

  • Programs and Services

    The Foundation consists of 4 areas:

    The “Na Hoku Hanohano Moe Keale Aloha Is Award” for community service. The foundation is the home of the Aloha Is award, managing the coordination, promotion, and presentation of the Moe Keale Aloha Is Award.

    Aloha Is Mele (Music), A music arts program and record label to teach and support Hawaii’s Keiki in the Music Industry, teaching and mentoring on how to produce music and be successful in the music business.

    Aloha Is Keiki Program is focused on building a cultural education program on the foundations of Aloha for the development of Hawaii’s Keiki.

    Aloha Is Imi Na’auao (Land and Nature based Sciences). Designed immerse keiki in Cultural based Studies focusing in the areas of Marine Conservation, Eco System studies, Stewardship of the aina, resource education(Fishing/Diving), Canoe paddling, and Voyaging.

    A 501(c)(3) organization is a United States corporation, trust, unincorporated association or other type of organization exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of Title 26 of the United States Code. For some donors who make charitable contributions to most types of 501(c)(3) organizations, the donation provides a deduction for federal income tax purposes.

As you know, the Moe Keale Aloha Is Award is presented to the Entertainer who exemplifies what Aloha Is and uses their professional persona for the betterment of the community. The Aloha Is Foundation Honor Award is presented to Organizations that exemplify what Aloha Is and have dedicated time or used their business/services for the betterment of the community. To commemorate the 20th annual Na Hoku Hanohano Moe Keale Aloha Is Award, it was our distinguished honor to present the 1st Aloha Is Foundation Honor Award to Kamaka Hawaii. Kamaka Hawaii is a Multigenerational Family run business and has donated an ukulele for the Na Hoku Hanohano Moe Keale Aloha Is award for the last 17yrs, and for decades have provided thousands of ukuleles to the public schools throughout the state. They have participated in many events benefitting the community, and are a true example of what Aloha Is. 20 Years ago today, April 15th, 2002, Hawaii and the World lost a true Son of Hawaii. A pure Hawaiian, Moe Keale was born Dec. 3, 1939, on Ni'ihau, but grew up on O'ahu. He was shaped by the ancestral customs and values of his birthplace, learning to play the ukulele at the age of four. A Hawaiian musician, a ukulele virtuoso, and an actor. He was one of the few persons born in the 20th century to have full Hawaiian ancestry. Keale did a little of everything in his life, redefining the word versatile. He was a beachboy, musician and singer, part-time electrician, and radio deejay, as well as an actor. In April 2001 he had a near-fatal heart attack and received a pacemaker implant. He used his extension on life to raise $260,000 for the American Heart Association, in order to have portable defibrillators strategically positioned throughout the state of Hawaii. One year later he died after a heart attack at Castle Medical Center. He was 62. In 2003, the Hawai'i Academy of Recording Arts instituted the Moe Keale "Aloha Is" Award in its Na Hoku Hanohano Awards. The Aloha Is Award recognizes recipients with a Kamaka ‘Ukulele provided by the Kamaka Ukulele ohana led by Chris Kamaka. and $1,000 provided annually by Judith Puna Flanders and the “Flanders/Staub Ohana”. Each year previous recipients can nominate others and vote to determine who the next award will be presented to.
